People protest ration shortage

Baramulla: Residents from Utoora village of Kreeri area here Tuesday held a protest against shortage of ration.
They complained that the government- run ration shop has remained defunct and the officials stationed there were indulging in black-marketing.
The protesters carrying rice bags and ration cards shouted slogans outside the DDC Office Baramulla
and asked the authorities to look into these bungling. Riyaz Ahmad, a protester, alleged that the concerned Munshi was selling rice meant for public distribution in black-market while feigning its shortage before the people.
