Srinagar: Opposition Peoples Democratic Party Tuesday hit out at the ruling National Conference-Congress coalition, saying the present regime was a “stumbling block” in restoring sustainable peace and accelerating equitable and balanced development in the state.
“Omar Abdullah led NC-Congress coalition is a non-performing liability. The present regime has reversed the process of peace and development which was initiated by the previous PDP-led government. It is a stumbling block in restoring sustainable peace and accelerating equitable and balanced development in the state,” PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said.
He was addressing a series of election meetings in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The PDP patron said since the formation of this government, the situation in the state has been deteriorating with every passing day.
“Every section of the society is bearing the brunt of wrong policies being propagated by this government,” he said.
“Aim of PDP is not to attain power, but to address grievances of the people, to restore peace, to uphold dignity and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, and urged people to give their mandate to party candidate and his daughter Mehbooba Mufti.
“Unlike other parties, PDP representatives will not remain mute spectators in Parliament,” he said.
