SRINAGAR: Mudasir Ahmad proved to be the star act as Budgam XI Club edged past Gymkhana Peerbagh to win the inaugural game of ‘Martyr Parvaiz T20 Cricket tournament’ played at Police Complex Stadium Humhama.
Mudasir walked away with man of the match award for game winning contribution.
According to the press statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, the tourney is being organised by J&K Police (JKAP 11th Security Battalion) in association with District Youth Services and Sports Budgam under its Civic Action Programme.
The tournament, as per the statement, is being organised in the memory of late constable Parvaiz Ahmad Wani who was killed at Pampore last year when militants attacked renowned cardiologist Dr Jalal-ud-din.
18 teams from the central Kashmir’s Budgam district are vying for the title glory with police department fielding its own two teams.
