Rashid dubs PDP, NC leaders ‘agents of Delhi’

Anantnag: Describing PDP and NC leaders as “agents of New Delhi,” Awami Itihad Party(AIP) chief Shiekh Abdul Rashid Friday said that if elected to the Indian Parliament he will fight for “everything from right to self determination of Kashmiris to return of Afzal Guru’s mortal remains.”
“Both PDP and NC leaders are the agents of Delhi. Both parties have not only disappointed the people of Kashmir but also dishonored them. If we are elected to the Parliament we will force Government of Indian to fulfill the promises it has made to the Kashmiris including their right to self determination. We will fight for every issue be it the return of the mortal remains of Afzal Guru, corruption or human rights violations,” Rashid told reporters here.
“We will represent the wishes of the people in the Parliament as we did in the Assembly during last five years,” he said.
Asked why he did not resign from the Assembly after the hanging of Guru, Rashid said if he had done so there would have been no one left in the Assembly to raise voice on the matter.
Earlier Rashid accompanied party candidate for Anantnag parliamentary constituency, Mohammad Tanveer Khan, to the returning officers office where he filed his nomination papers.
