SRINAGAR: A three day Adventure Snow Skiing program Friday concluded at Gulmarg in which about 55 students from “weaker sections of the society” participated.
The programmes were conducted by National Adventure foundation(NAF) J&K chapter.
Director tourism Kashmir Talat pervaiz was the chief guest on the concluding function of and distributed Prizes, certificates and incentives among the participants. Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority Tariq Ahmad Ganie also attended the award function.
NAF J&K chapter, according to the organisers, organised both the programmes on behalf of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govermentt of Indian.
In the one day week end adventure programme, the trainees were taken around the Gulmarg to know the topography and climatic conditions of the area.
The participants were imparted with various techniques to deal with any untoward situation during heavy snowfall. Bridge Crossing on ropes , Jumaring , Rapling and different knots were taught to the participants.
Director NAF J&K chapter Umar Rafiq said that such courses will be conducted in future as well to train the students who belong to the weaker sections of the society.
