Desist from black marketing of LPG: CAPD Deptt to dealers

SRINAGAR: Warning LPG and kerosene dealers to desist from black marketing, Secretary, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Baseer Ahmad Khan Friday asked them to ensure smooth supplies of the essentials to the consumers.
According to an official handout, Khan was addressing a meeting of senior officers of the department to streamline the home delivery system of cooking gas.
Among others, the meeting was attended by the Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Kashmir, Assistant Directors of Budgam, Pulwama, Srinagar and Ganderbal districts and other senior officers of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution besides cooking gas and kerosene oil dealers.
The meeting discussed the mechanism to be put in place for hassle free and smooth home delivery of cooking gas to the consumers in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam and Pulwama districts.
While reviewing the functioning of the department, the secretary directed the concerned officers to ensure timely supply of essentials to the people especially living in far flung and remote areas.
He asked the cooking gas and kerosene oil dealers to ensure that only genuine consumers are being supplied these essentials. He warned them not to resort to black marketing.
The details of stock position of all the districts of Kashmir Division were presented during the meeting through a PowerPoint presentation.
It was given out that 173406 APL, 13558 BPL, 8573 AAY and 14996 TRT consumers are being provided ration as per census 2001.
The secretary was informed that under National Food Security Act 2012 as many as 22500 forms have been issued in Srinagar district.
