Arise releases Hyundai Xcent in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Arise, Hyundai Motor’s authorised dealership for the Valley, Wednesday released newly launched Xcent, a sedan based on the Grand i10 platform here at a starting price of Rs 4.81 lakh.
The Xcent has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants with the price ranging from Rs 4.81 lakh to Rs 7.56 lakh at ex-showroom Srinagar.
The new compact sedan was unveiled by Superintendent Traffic, Srinagar, Haseeb-ur-Rehman in presence of representatives of Hyundai Motor, directors of Arise Hyundai, and officers of J&K Bank, HDFC, Axis Bank and Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Limited. 22 person booked Xcent on spot at Arise showroom. Hyundai’s new sub-4 metre compact sedan, considered a competitor of the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze.
“The Xcent is a world-class product developed for the Indian families. Developed with the best of Hyundai Motor’s world-class technologies, Xcent will create a new benchmark in terms of quality, design, space, features and driving pleasure in the compact sedan segment. We have invested extensive effort in competitively pricing Xcent to offer excellent value and to become the most loved and trusted brand,” one of the Arise directors said at the release ceremony.
The Xcent will be available with two engine options the 1.1 litre advanced second generation U2 CRDi diesel and 1.2 litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol offering a combination of optimum performance and high fuel economy.
The Xcent adopts the best of Hyundai’s powertrains to achieve an enhanced balance of power and torque output. The advanced 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel delivers 72PS@4000rpm of maximum power and 18.4kgm@1750- 2500rpm of peak torque with the mileage of 24.4 kmpl, Hyundai said. “This environment friendly U2 CRDi diesel engine is Euro V ready with low emission and NVH levels,” it said. The petrol is expected to deliver mileage of 19.1 kmpl (ARAI figure). The diesel comes with a 5-speed manual transmission while the petrol gets 5-speed manual and a 4- speed automatic. 
 The Grand i10 sedan, Xcent, is Hyundai’s first foray into the hotly contested sub-4 meter sedan category. The Xcent was first showcased at the time of Auto Expo 2014 in February.
