Judiciary’s double-standards exposed: Pro-freedom camp

Srinagar: Pro-freedom leaders Monday said the Supreme Court ruling on Devender Pal Singh Bhullar’s death sentence had once again exposed the “double-standards” of the Indian judiciary.
“The verdict has exposed India’s judicial system and the tall claims of justice and fair play,” said Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik said that the SC ruling had exposed the ‘bias’ of Indian judiciary against the people of Kashmir. “Even the court judgment stated that there was no direct involvement of Afzal Guru in the Parliament attack but to satisfy the so-called collective conscience of India, he was hanged mercilessly at Tihar,” Malik said.
Hurriyat Conference (G) led by Syed Ali Geelani said that SC verdict had vindicated the stand of the pro-freedom camp that “people of Kashmir cannot expect justice from India’s judicial system.”
