900 students appear in Mains test of ALOHA GAT

SRINAGAR: Around 900 candidates of class 5th to 10th from all across the valley appeared in the 4th Annual ALOHA General Ability Test (GAT) Mains Exam-2013 on Sunday.
In a statement, the ALOHA said that the examination was conducted at Government Degree College Bemina, Srinagar and is the 2nd component of competitive yearly GAT series which comprises of three components i.e. Prelims, Mains and Personality Test.
According to the statement, the candidates who appeared in the GAT- Mains have already qualified the 1st component i.e. ALOHA GAT-Prelims which was simultaneously held on 24th November, 2013 in the Central Zone at Government Degree College Bemina Srinagar, in the North Zone at Government Degree College Handwara and in the South Zone at Government Degree College Khannabal Islamabad( Anantnag).
“The 3rd component of Personality Test will likely be conducted in the last week of April or 1st week of May, 2014, the statement said.
The statement said that the ALOHA GAT “is part of corporate social responsibility aiming to groom the young generation for competitive examinations in future.”
“ALOHA J&K had initiated the Annual GAT Series to orient school going children from 5th to 10th standards towards KAS, IAS, IFS, GMAT, AIEEE,CAT,NET, SLET, CET, IIT, IIM and other competitive exams,” the statement added.
“In order to encourage the enthusiasm of the students ALOHA J&K is giving prizes to first three positions of each class viz A Laptop to the 1st, rupees 5,000 to the 2nd and rupees 4,000 to the 3rd. Besides 5 consolation prizes of rupees 500 each are given in each class.
