Pak should only talk to India from position of strength: Geelani

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference(G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has said India was trying to take advantage of Pakistan’s “internal and external problems” by pushing for an out-of-box solution on Kashmir .
“Pakistan must not settle for negotiations until it is in a position of strength to back its principled stance on Kashmir,” Geelani said in his telephonic address to a conference on Kashmir in Pakistani capital city of Islamabad yesterday.
Geelani said Kashmiris have “categorically rejected any solution to the Kashmir dispute within the constitution of India and they hope that Pakistan will also focus on the United Nations resolutions instead of any out- of- box solution which will harm the Kashmir cause.”
Geelani said that “India want to bury the Kashmir issue by taking advantage of Pakistan’s internal and external problems.”
“Dialogues are held when the both parties are equal in status and currently Pakistan is not in a position to hold talks with India as it is overburdened with internal and external problems,” Geelani said.
Geelani said that Kashmiris will settle for nothing less than complete freedom from India and Pakistan too should maintain its traditional policy on Kashmir.

First time in a long long while I have heard something logical from this Old Man of Kashmir! Yes, Pakistan should only “talk” to India when “it is strong” or “equal” etc etc … in other words, there should be nothing happening for another good 50 years at least (!) — Pakistan hopefully then (assuming it still exists as a viable “country”) will itself have emerged “out-of-the-box” (of its current “internal” and “external” problems as Mr. Geelani has stated here) … and would be in a far better position to “realize complete freedom for Kashmir from India” … by … “talks” (how else, right Mr. Geelani?) … may this Old Man live long enough to see that day…!!!
