Kupwara announces NABARD credit plan of Rs 390 cr for 2014-15

KUPWARA: An amount of Rs 186.89 crore to 13012 income generating units (IGUs) under priority sector and Rs 69.66 crore to 3547 beneficiaries under non-priority sector have been provided to set up their own IGUs upto December 31, third quarter of financial year 2013-14, an official spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting was held on Friday here under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Bilal Ahmad Bhat.
The banks, sponsoring agencies and representatives of Reserve Bank of India and NABARD were present in the meeting.
The Lead District Manager advised the Banks to achieve 100 percent targets under Kissan Credit Card scheme besides covering of all the villages allotted to them under financial inclusion program and to ensure 60 percent bank accounts of the all households.
The Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara exhorted upon the banks and sponsoring agencies to work with co-ordination to achieve the goals and targets in order to eradicate unemployment. He also directed various agencies to conduct awareness camps at the village levels to generate proper awareness among the general masses.
Meanwhile, the Additional District Development Commissioner has launched potential linked credit plan 2014-15 at a size of Rs 390.52 crore under NABARD for district Kupwara.
