TEACHERS LIST: HC notice to SSB on excluding 86 candidates

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed Service Selection Board to file objections to a petition filed by 86 candidates, challenging exclusion after their shortlist for interview for selection as teachers in education department.
Hearing the petition, a bench of Justice Janak Raj Kotwal also directed the SSB to allow the petitioners to take part in the interview vis-à-vis all the notifications for they had applied for and were earlier shortlisted.
This, the court said, shall be done at the risk of the petitioners and further orders in the application by it.
While directing that the petition to be listed in the week commencing April 28, the court asked the SSB to file objections in the meantime.
In the petition—titled Mir Irsheed Hussain and others Vs J&K Service Selection Board, the petitioners are challenging their exclusion for appearing in the viva-voice.
As per them, the SSB issued a revised list of shortlisted candidates, excluding them from appearing in the interview on March 16.
The petitioners are seeking directions upon the SSB to refrain from acting upon on revised notice and act upon the earlier shortlisted notice which was published on January 31.
