Pro-freedom leaders condole demise of Hassan Al-Bana’s mother

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Monday condoled the demise of Hajira Begum, mother of People’s Political Front (Pakistan-administered Kashmir chapter) head, Hassan al-Bana who also happens to be close relative of slain People’s League leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
In a statement, Mirwaiz expressed profound grief and regret and offered his sympathies with the bereaved family.
He paid “rich tributes to the Hassan al-Bana’s family for their contribution towards the freedom struggle and expressed his solidarity with the family and offered special prayers for the deceased.”
The statement said that a Hurriyat delegation including senior leaders, Musadiq Adil, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Abdul Majid Wani, and Irshad Ahmad Baqal participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased.
Another delegation including Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, Javed Ahmad Mir, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Hakim Abdul Rashid, Abdul Rashid Untoo, Abdul Manan Bukhari, and Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi visited the house of deceased at Lasjan here and condoled with the family, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the statement said, PPF has organized a special prayer session for the deceased on March 27.
JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik has also expressed his heartfelt condolences over the demise Hajira Begum.
In a statement, a JKLF spokesman said that Malik along with senior JKLF leaders Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bitta went to Bana’s residence in Srinagar and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
The statement further said that JKLF patron and supreme leader Amannullah Khan along with senior leaders Mohammad Rafiq Dar and Saleem Haroon have also expressed condolences over the demise.
“These leaders went to the residence of Bana Sahib and expressed their heartfelt condolences to him on the demise of his mother,” the statement said.
“They also prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family,” the statement added.

In a statement to Kashmir Reader, the leaders including Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Salim Haroon, Shaikh Abdul Muteen, Rafiq Ahmad Dar, Aijaz Rehmani, Tufail Altaf Bhat and Jaffer Kashmiri expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Hijra Begum.
The statement said that the leaders in a condolence meeting held at PWD Colony in Islamabad expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
