EDB opens branch in Balhama

SRINAGAR: Ellaquai Dehati Bank Monday opened a business unit at Balhama village here taking the tally of the EDB’s branches to 133.
The online branch was inaugurated by General Manager, State Bank Of India, PK Jain in presence of bank’s chairman AK Razdan, a spokesperson of the EDB said.
Razdan at the occasion said that the bank is actively contributing in socio economic development of the state.
He said that bank is participating in many poverty alleviation programs by its emphasis on employment generating schemes and investment in agriculture sector.
He stressed upon the people to take full advantage of loan products designed by the bank for the people living in the rural areas with special emphasis on traders and farmers.
He said that EDB has gone Hi-Tech now and remittance facility is available at all the branches of the bank. He said people must take full advantage of the instant remittance facility. Besides the loan products, bank has a number of deposit products designed for meeting out the investment needs of its customers.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Jain appreciated banks role in reaching out to the remotest corners for bringing the excluded people into financial fold. He said that customers also have the obligation to repay the bank dues in time, so that the circulation of funds doesn’t get blocked.
