THE IMPACT PLAYERS

The result of  high voltage clash between India and Pakistan will see hinge on performance of whole team, but there are couple of players from either side who can turn the marquee clash on its head.

SAEED AJMAL: It isn’t for the first time magician Saeed Ajmal will be key to Pakistan’s chances against India. India are traditionally terrific players against spin, but Ajmal has a solid record against them. What makes Ajmal a difficult bowler to score off is that he is got terrific control over his doosra which turns a great deal with vicious bounce. There aren’t many who can pick his doosra and stock delivery off-spinner does make him best spinner in the world. His duel with Virat Kohli fits for an action part of Indo-Pak blockbuster.

SHAHID AFRIDI: If Afridi fires with his bat, Pakistan would might difficult to beat. He epitomizes Pakistan’s unpredictable nature and you never know what the dashing all-rounder is going to dish out with the bat. He can win you a lost game that too in a matter of few balls as was evident from his Asia Cup 2014 onslaught. Pakistan would want firing Afridi and if he lives up to his pre-tournament reputation, India could well be looking down the barrel.

VIRAT KOHLI: Barring Proteas AB de Villiers, there aren’t many who can challenge Indian run machine as the world’s best limited overs’ batsmen at the moment. His skill level is amazing, his hunger for runs humungous and adaptility to different conditions second to none. Except for a monumental 183 in 2012 Asia Cup, he hasn’t set world on fire against Pakistan and he would like to change that. An in-form Kohli means stability and solidity in the middle order for India.

YUVRAJ SINGH: Ever since World Cup winning show in 2011 that followed with career threatening cancer, the left hander has failed to find his batting mojo which resulted him losing his test and ODI place. World T20 gives him an ideal platform to signal return to the form and there won’t be a better clash than this to do this. His dominating mindset can force Pakistan on the backfoot, but Ajmal and co. will be aware of the fact Yuvraj early on is susceptible to the spinners.
