LS polls: Shabir Khan in Cong’s 19-member campaign committee for Jammu

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Saif-ud-Din Soz on Wednesday constituted a 19-member campaign committee for Jammu province in the run up to the Parliamentary elections. The committee includes former Minister of State for Health, Shabir Khan, who was booked by police in Srinagar last month on a complaint by a lady doctor alleging that he made an attempt to molest her.
The committee headed by Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, includes Gulchain Singh Charak; Janak Raj Gupta, vice-president; Mula Ram, vice-president; RS Chib, general secretary; Prakash Sharma, president DCC Samba; Mohammad Aslam Goni; Ravinder Sharma; Jugal Kishore Sharma; Jahangir Mir; Bashir Ahmed Naaz; Shabir Ahmed Khan; Indu Pawar; Bhupinder Singh Pathania; YV Sharma; Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Minister for Relief, Revenue & Rehabilitation; Choudhary Tassaduq; Ghulam Mohammad Saroori; and Mujeeb Ali Sheikh.
Tara Chand, Deputy Chief Minister, “will remain directly associated with the president JKPCC and render his advice, from time to time,” a Congress statement to Kashmir Reader quoted Soz as saying.
