SRINAGAR: Market checking squad of CAPD Monday collected Rs 7800 fine from 23 shopkeepers for violating the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, an official spokesperson here said.
The squad conducted market checking in various areas of the city including Maharaj Bazar, Amira Kadal, Hari Singh High Street, Naz Crossing LD Hospital Road, Sonwar, Dalgate and other adjoining areas.
During the market checking Rs 7800 has been recovered as fine from 23 shopkeepers found violating various provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. Huge quantity of rotten vegetables was also destroyed on this occasion. Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar issued strict directions to the market checking squad to conduct regular market checkings in the city and take action against the violators.
