KTMF demand compensation for snow-affected shopkeepers

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Federation Saturday called on Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and demanded ‘monetary help’ for the shopkeepers whose commercial establishments were damaged in a recent snowfall in the Valley, a statement issued by the KTMF said.
KTMF President Mohammad Yasin Khan, according the statement, giving the details of the meeting said the minister assured the traders that government would come to the rescue of the traders whose commercial as well as residential structures have been impacted by the snowfall.
Khan said that traders also demand that government should declare the recent snowfall as a “disaster” so that the affected people get some relief from the government.
Khan said that during these few days of snowfall, business community and general line traders have incurred losses worth crores of rupees.
