Weather woes not over yet

Srinagar: If you had thought weather woes have ended think again as the Meteorological Department Friday issued a weather warning for “moderate to rather heavy rain, snow” during next four days.
“A fresh Western Disturbance over J&K and adjoining areas is likely to affect the state from March 15 (Saturday) to March 18 (Tuesday),” a handout by the department said here.
Under the influence of the weather system, it said, moderate to rather heavy rain or snow would occur at many places on March 15 and 16 and at most places on March 17 and 18.
“Snowfall is also likely at a few places in Ladakh region particularly in Zojila, Drass & Kargil hilly areas,” it said, adding, “During the period, heavy to very heavy rain or snowfall would occur at isolated places over the state. Thunder squall accompanied by hailstorm is also likely at isolated places in the state.”
The weather fresh warning comes at a time when people continue to batter heavy snowfall in the beginning of this week.
Thanks to some improvement in weather on Friday, water receded on most of the roads which were deluged by the heavy downpour on Monday and Tuesday last.
