SRINAGAR: Department of Youth Services and Sports, is conducting a week long refresher course for Physical Education Teachers and Physical Education Masters of Jammu and Kashmir, a statement issued by the department said.
The training will be imparted to 220 PETs and PEMs from March 16 at Youth Hostel Nagrota and Government College of Physical Education, Ganderbal, it added.
The aim of the course, according to the statement, is to train the PETs and PEMs of the department with the latest techniques and trends taking place in the field of sports, not only of the major games but also the new games adopted by the School Games Federation of India in the recent past.
“The training shall be imparted by the experts of the department and shall be passed on to student youth reading in schools by these PETs and PEMs,” it read.
Demonstrations about the first-aid and prevention from injuries, the role of sports medicine and news rules adopted by some games federations and the Olympic Association will form part of the deliberations.
