Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council has furnished wrong information to an applicant under Right to Information Act, a local news gathering agency CNS reported Tuesday.
According to the report, Azad Ahmed Quereshi from Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal had sought information from the J&K SSC about the ‘qualification of works through tenders’, but the applicant had accused that he was provided with wrong information, and was made to “wait for more than two months.”
In this regard, Quereshi appealed to the Information Commissioner to take suitable action against the Council.
Despite fulfilling all the formalities, Qureshi said, the Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council did not provide him any information and made him wait for more than two months.
“I had sought information about the ‘qualification of works through tenders’ from the Sports Council but they were reluctant to provide the same. It was only after the intervention of Information Commissioner that I was provided information,” he said adding that he was aghast to see the misleading information.
He appealed to the Information Commissioner to take suitable action against the Council.
