‘33,416 need-based workers among 98,242 appointed’

Jammu: Government has appointed 98,242 officials, including 33,416 need-based workers in the state from January 2009.
Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather gave this information in the state Assembly in reply to a question of A R Veeri (PDP).
Giving details, he said 59,226 of them have been made permanent workers, 33,416 need-based workers, 5,449 on contract, 140 on consolidated basis and 11 on adhoc basis.
The highest number of 27,853 appointments have been made in agriculture department followed by 18,826 appointments in home department, 16,561 in school education, 10,449 in health and medical education department, he said.
