Srinagar: J&K Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir’s cavalcade was attacked with stones by a group youth on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday.
The cavalcade of Mir, comprising nearly 50 vehicles, was on its way to Tangmarg when it was attacked by youth near Narbal with stones, reports said. Though no one was injured in the incident, three vehicles suffered damages in stone pelting.
“The windowpanes of two Sumo vehicles and a Maruti car were broken. A few supporters of Mir also suffered minor injuries in the stone pelting,” reports said.
Later when the cavalcade reached Kawoosa village, it again came under stone pelting attack triggering panic among Mir’s supporters. Some stones were also hurled at the cavalcade when it reached Druroo village of Tangmarg.
However, the Agriculture Minister downplayed the incident saying no stone was hurled at his rally that concluded peacefully.
“It’s a rumour. No one attacked my cavalcade,” Mir told Kashmir Reader.
