‘676 new sub-health centres sanctioned under NRHM’

Jammu: Government of India  has sanctioned 676 new sub-health centres in Jammu and Kashmir under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), the state Assembly was informed Friday.
Minister for Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din stated this in a reply to a question in the Legislative Assembly.
“Out of the 676 new sub health centres, twelve have been sanctioned in Mendhar Constituency of Poonch district,” the minister said.
He said the matter for providing requisite staff and other logistic support for opening these new health centres has been taken up with the Centre.
The minister also said that the department has submitted a proposal to the government for upgradation of one health institution in every constituency of the state.
The upgradation of sub-health centre Soyian in Mendhar constituency to the level of Primary Health Center is included in the proposal, he said.
