Consider shifting of Amphalla Jail inmate to SKIMS: HC

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir High Court has asked authorities of Amphalla Jail here to consider shifting of an inmate languishing for nearly two decades there to SK Institute of Medical Sciences Soura for treatment at earliest.
Disposing of petition filed by Mohammad Amin Dar, a single bench of Justice Tashi Rabstan to consider his claim on the basis of contents made in the plea as well as the documents submitted by him “strictly in terms of the Jail Manual and the applicable Rules.
The court directed the authorities to arrange shifting of Dar at the earliest to Hospital as shall be advised by the Doctors.
Dar through his counsel, advocate Nasir Qadri, had sought directions to the authorities to shift him from District Jail AmphalIa, Jammu to SKIMS to undergo various phase-wise tests and treatment.
In his petition, Dar had placed on record a copy of the instructions issued by the Resident/Consultant, Nuclear Medicine, SKIMS, Soura.
In addition, he had also produced the copy of an Out Patient Card issued by the Government Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu whereby he was advised to get the tests from SKIMS, PGIMER or AIIMS.
