38 people stranded due to snowfall rescued

SRINAGAR: As many as 38 persons, including two women and a child, stranded due to heavy snowfall were rescued by the Army at Nasta Chunn Pass in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Around 9.30 PM yesterday, Army deployed at Nasta Chunn Pass received information that six vehicles with 35 males, two ladies and one child were stranded 1500 metres east of their location due to heavy snowfall,” the spokesman said.
An avalanche rescue team was activated and the stranded persons were taken to safety along with the vehicles.
The vehicles were on their way from Chowkibal to Tangdhar.
