‘Over Rs 11 crore realized as fine from traffic violators’

Jammu: As many as 5,44,338 violators have been booked and a fine of Rs 11.27 crore realized from them for traffic violations last year, the government said Wednesday.
Replying to a  clubbed question by Vijay Bakaya and Bashir Ahmad Magray, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo  said that mobile Traffic Vehicle Squads have been deployed on vulnerable routes to check traffic jamming and prevent traffic violations. Kichloo said that Hydraulic wrecker for the purpose of lifting of wrongly parked vehicles in twin cities of Jammu/ Srinagar have been hired which has provided rich dividends in dealing with the menace. He said construction of flyover at BikramChowk Jammu, flyover from Jahangir Chowk to Rambagh, four lane of National highway from Kunjwani to Satwari, Jammu will ease traffic pressure to a large extent, thereby helping in overcoming the inconvenience caused to the general public.
