Srinagar: A local court here on Saturday extended by three days the police remand of one of the parents, other than nine already charged-sheeted in cash-for-paper scam in BOPEE.
The Crime Branch produced Jan Mohammad Dar, of Rehbab Sahib, Aali kadal here, before Special Anti-Corruption judge M L Manhas, who extended his remand by three days.
Jan was arrested on February 11 in connection with scam alleged to have been engineered by the former chairman of BOPEE Mushtaq Ahmad Peer who is lodged in jail from last 92 days.
The remand was extended after the investigation officer said that a lot of incriminating evidence was yet to be collected in the case (FIR no. 24/2013 for commission 420, 406, 201, 120-B RPC).
“Investigation officer is directed to get the accused medically examined under rules,” the court said.
