CAPD to intensify market checking

SRINAGAR: To ensure the availability of adequate stocks of essentials including rice, atta, K.Oil and Liquefied Petroleum Gas to the consumers in the Valley, the Director Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad Khan convened an officers meeting here on Saturday, an official spokesperson said.
Among other all the District Officers of the Department attended the meeting.
While reviewing the functioning of the department and distribution of food grains under PDS among the consumers, it was informed that adequate stocks are available in the Valley, besides essentials have already been stocked in far flung and remote areas of the Valley.
It was given out in the meeting that the process of digitalization of ration tickets has already been initiated and is expected to be completed shortly.
The director impressed upon the officers to redouble their efforts in ensuring supply of essentials at all the ration depots without any inconvenience to the consumers besides urged for displaying of rate lists of essentials at all the sale outlets.
