Qadri’s demise widely condoled

SRINAGAR: Several parties and leaders Thursday expressed condolences over the demise of Nazir Ahmad Qadri who died in a road accident in Jammu on Wednesday.
Qadri, brother of Daily Afaaq’s editor, Ghulam Jeelani Qadri and its associate editor Morifaat Qadri, was working in agriculture department.
While condoling the demise, chief Patron of Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) Muhammad Azam Inqilabi, who is also Qadri’s brother-in-law, expressed grief and profound sorrow.
A MeA statement said that “Inqilabi prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.” He also expressed his sympathy with Qadri family.
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, while expressing “deep grief and sorrow over the demise, expressed sympathy and condolences with the Qadri family.
In a statement, the Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that on Geelani’s direction Haji Ghulam Nabi Sumji general secretary of the amalgam and Peer Saifullah of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat visited the bereaved family and expressed their sympathy with the family members and prayed for the deported soul.
JKLF chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik also expressed “deep shock and grief over the sad demise.
A JKLF statement said that Malik and other JKLF leaders visited the house of the deceased and expressed solidarity with his bereaved family.”
People’s Conference also expressed condolences over “the sudden demise of Qadri.
A PC statement said that its chairman, Sajad Gani Lone and general secretary, Rashid Mehmood, “expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Qadri and prayed for the departed soul.”
