Indoor Futsal Championship

SRINAGAR: After a three month hiatus thanks to inclement weather in harsh winter, Jammu and Kashmir Football Association, custodians of the sport in the state, are back organizing soccer tournaments.
The first of it- a unique one as per JKFA, is expected to begin from February 22. The tournament- Indoor Futsal Championship- will be hosted at SK Indoor Stadium, with matches being played at synthetic turf for the first time.
The event is a more of a template of a popular soccer format in the Latin American countries like Brazil, and the JKFA will be starting with two categories as of now: U-17 for juniors and F-Cube for seniors.
The idea of holding this kind of the tourney was boosted by the success of Kashmir Football Festival in early half of 2013 with some of the game held under floodlights, a first in this part of the world.
According to the JKFA, the registration forms are available on the website www.kashmirfootballfestival.com and on Facebook page www.facebook.com/kashmirfootballfestival.
