Resolution passed on new medical colleges

JAMMU: The Legislative Assembly Monday  unanimously adopted a resolution expressing gratitude to Union Minister for Health  Ghulam Nabi Azad for establishing four medical colleges and two Cancer hospitals in the state. The House also impressed upon the Government of India to establish Medical Colleges at Poonch-Rajouri, Kupwara, Udhampur, Kulgam, Budgam, Bandipora, Leh/ Kargil, Samba and Pulwama districts.
Meanwhile,  Minister for Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din while replying to a question in the Legislative Council said that the Health & Medical Education department has given authorization in principal for installation of high-tech diagnostic medical equipments in  premier heath institutions of the state under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.  Government Medical Colleges Jammu and Srinagar would be covered in the first instance under the scheme, he said.]
