SRINAGAR: Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Sunday gave away prizes to the students of the 4th ski course run by Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IISM) at Gulmarg.
80 students from different parts of India including 40 students from Srinagar and one student from Estonia participated in the 15 day course.
The students were given training in the Basic, Intermediate and advanced courses, an official statement issued said.
Mir said that the Institute not only trains students in advance skills but it provides an opportunity to the students for cultural integration who participate from different parts of the country and world.
He complemented the Principal and staff for doing an excellent job and assured the Institute for an all out help from the state government to rebuild its training infrastructure.
Principal IISM J S Dillon said that the adventure skills developed by the Institute not only promote adventure tourism, it also generates huge employment especially for the local youth.
Director Tourism Talat Parvez also attended the ceremony and praised the high standards of training and administration of the Institute.
