Three-day International Skiing championship begins from Feb 17

SRINAGAR: A three day International Skiing Championship to be held at famous tourist resort will begin from February 17. According to the official statement issued here, at least 160 Athletes and officials of Winter Games Federation of India (WGFI) are expected to participate in the championship.
District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, statement said, told media about the highlights of the competition.
The highlights of the championship are National Alpine Ski, National Junior and Senior Snow Boarding Championship.
The Slalom and Giant Slalom for men and women in skiing championship are being organized while Junior Snow Boarding championship is being played for the first time in India.
The Championship is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Winter Games Association under the aegis of WGFI and is being sponsored by J&K State Cable Car Corporation while J&K Bank and Khyber Group of Industries will co-sponsor the championship.
