6 injured in Uri as vehicle plunges into gorge

Baramulla: At least six people, two among them were injured critically on Friday in a road accident in Uri area of this north Kashmir district.
A Scorpio (JK05B/3882) carrying six people was on way to Baramulla from Uri when it skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near Nowshera village of Uri on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway this morning, official sources Friday said. All the six inmates were injured in the road accident. They were removed to the district hospital, Baramulla for treatment. However, two of the seriously injured persons were referred to SK Institute of medical sciences, Srinagar for specialized treatment.
“Four of the injured are being treated at the district hospital. However, 2 of the seriously wounded have been referred to Srinagar,” Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Baramulla, Dr Bashir Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.
