Young entrepreneurs launch web-portal for tourism promotion

SRINAGAR: To provide easy access and better services to tourists and travelers in Jammu and Kashmir, a local destination marketing organization launched a web portal ‘TravelNshop’ in collaboration with Tourism Department, Kashmir on Wednesday here at a local hotel.
Joint Director Tourism Mohd Hussain Mir in presence of Deputy Director Tourism, Shabir Hussain Bhat, Assistant Director Tourism (Travel Registrations) Miss Zahida; J&K Hoteliers club vice chairperson, Amit Amla; President Travel Agents Association, Peerzada Fayaz Ahmad; Adventure Tour Operators Association; MD Interface Technologies, Fahim Khan and President House Boat Owners Association, M Yousuf released the webportal.
“It is a great innovation in the industry of tourism and I am thrilled to see our youth competing with the international web-portals in the form of Makemytrip.com and yatra.com,” Joint Director tourism Kashmir said in a statement issued by the organisers.
Directors of the web portal Riyaz Ahmad Masoodi and Adil Masoodi at the occasion said “TravelNshop” is an initiative with a mission to promote the tourism in the Valley.
“We knew now is the time that there has to be a change in approach. That’s why we walked from traditional advertising into new reality. We are sure every one of us believes that the integration of information technology into the organizational fabric of the destination marketing organization is very important in the contemporary world of tourism but we believe that the incorporation of the same must be based on something out of box,” Riyaz Masoodi said.
The web portal has been developed by IT company of J&K, “Interface Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Interface has four domains of the company and deal with Business Solution Development, Web-securities, Web-Hosting and ERP Solution Development.
“We have used latest technologies for Creating Advanced CMS for TravelNshop and have installed high,” Director Interface, Ravees Ahmad Bhat said.
