JAMMU: Ruling National Conference (NC) Wednesday questioned the opposition of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to creation of new administration units.
“Why did the PDP remain silent? Why didn’t they raise their grievances when the report was being drafted,” NC MLA and former MoS Home, Nasir Aslam Wani said while reacting to PDP’s protests and disruption in the Assembly proceedings over the issue.
Nasir said NC had highlighted the need for new administrative units even for PDP constituencies even as legislators from the opposition party themselves had “never bothered to raise the issue while the report was being prepared.”
“This did not suit you. You didn’t believe it (creation of new administrative units) can happen,” Nasir said in response to
PDP MLA from Shangus, Peerzada Mansoor’s allegations about lack of facilities in his constituency.
