Delay in Khan’s arrest time-buying exercise: DAK

Srinagar: The Doctors Association of Kashmir(DAK) Sunday alleged that the police was delaying former Health Minister Shabir Khan’s arrest so that he could destroy evidence and coerce witnesses in the sexual assault case registered against him.
“The police are buying time for Khan to allow him to destroy evidence and pressure witnesses,” DAK president Dr Nisar ul Hassan said in a statement.
“How can the police be clueless about Khan’s whereabouts when he has round-the-clock security? This is a joke,” he said.
Hassan also described Congress MP Choudhary Lal Singh’s questioning of the delay in the doctor filing the molestation complaint as “objectionable”, saying instead of showing sympathy with the victim and denouncing the perpetrator, he had “demonised the victim.”.
Hassan sought action against the ex-Minister’s Special Assistant and Private Secretary, alleging they were “directly involved in the sexual assault case”
He also lashed out at Director Health Services Kashmir, Saleem ur Rehman, for “promoting immorality in the Health Department.”
