SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Soccer team’s listless performance in the North Zone Qualifying Round of the 68th Santosh Trophy ended with a goalless draw against Himachal Pradesh in their all important Group B game at Delhi which meant the side’s campaign in the coveted tourney was over.
Thanks to the draw in the third and final fixture, J&K side finished second in the Group that was topped by Punjab which meant their qualification for the main round set to begin at Silliguri, Bengal.
As was the case with last encounter against Punjab that it lost by 0-1, J&K side failed to convert chances into goals with Himachal Pradesh thwarting all their attacking moves. With goal drying up and their opponents putting up a solid defensive show, the match ended in a draw, the result that didn’t favour the Asif led side.
