Pathribal fake encounter case: PDP delegation calls on Governor

SRINAGAR: A delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by party MLA from Shangus, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain Thursday called on governor N N Vohra and demanded justice for the victims of Pathribal fake encounter case.
The delegation demanded re-opening of the case and fresh investigation in a time bound manner.
According to a party statement, Peerzada “expressed anger over closing the case by the Army and pointed out that the case has provided a window of opportunity to the state government as well as Centre to provide justice to the people of Kashmir.”
“Faith on the democratic institutions of the common masses has been badly shattered due to the closing of this case so it was need of the hour to re-investigate the case in a time bound manner to revive faith of the people,” he said.
The MLA, under whose constituency Pathribal falls, said that it was all due to the denial of justice and lack of transparency and accountability in the system that alienation among Kashmiris has been increasing.
He insisted that all institutions including Army and other security forces should be made accountable. MLA urged the governor to take this issue before the Defence Ministry.
