PATHRIBAL FAKE ENCOUNTER

SRINAGAR: Condemnations continued to pour in Saturday against the army’s decision to close the Pathribal fake encounter case with the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat Conference announcing a week-long programme “to raise forceful voice against the deplorable act.”
A spokesman for the Hurriyat Conference (M) said that the amalgam had charted out a week long programme which includes a joint emergency meeting of its Executive Council, General Council and working committee on Monday, a seminar on Wednesday to analyze the “far- reaching consequences of the Army decision and protest demonstrations across Kashmir on Friday .
The amalgam “has appealed imams( prayer leaders) to raise voice against this injustice in their Friday sermons.”
The spokesman said that the Hurriyat leadership will lead the protest demonstrations at selected places on the day “to protest against the continuous imposition of Black laws like Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) which is being used as a cover to provide immunity to government forces for the atrocities and acts of killing committed by them.”
Chief patron of JKLF (R) Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo while strongly condemning the closure of Pathribal fake encounter case said such actions testify “how cheap Indian ruling class and army considered the blood of a common Kashmiri.”
“They can kill anyone at anytime and knowing there will be no accountability,” Tramboo said in a statement.
“We have many such cases where innocents were killed by army and no one was held accountable,” Tramboo said.
He said India which is “beating drums about being the world’s largest democracy has failed to deliver the justice in Pathribal and many other such cases.”
