Pampore: Authorities in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have urged domestic consumers to take benefit of the power department’s amnesty scheme.
Assistant Executive Engineer Power Development Department, Sub Division Pampore Javaid Iqbal Tak informed Kashmir Reader that the scheme was launched six months ago and domestic consumers having large pending bills can take benefit under this scheme for the next six months.
During this time, they have to pay only the principal while a surcharge on the bills will be waived off, he said.
“Under the Power Amnesty Scheme, the domestic consumers with large pending bills are allowed to pay the principal amount of the bill in 12 installments starting from September 2022,” he said, adding that surcharges on the pending bills were waived off.
As six months have already passed since the amnesty scheme was launched, the consumers who still have pending bills can benefit from the scheme which is open till August this year.
The AEE also said that consumers whose bills were pending for the last four months have been sent disconnection notices. He appealed to the consumers to take advantage of the scheme and pay their pending bills with a waiver.
