Srinagar: For last two-days, the offices and shops in Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) owned Doodh Ganga Plaza at Batamaloo are without essential water supply.
An official at a private office here said that they faced acute shortage of water since Wednesday as the department of public health engineering has not supplied drinking water to the plaza.
“We are running out of water,” he said. “We were forced to close the washroom facilities as well causing hardships to our employees.”
The official said that the water works employees are in deep slumber and has put them in tight spot.
“I contacted control room of water works department but the officials on the other side of phone dropped the call on the pretext that he was not supposed to take calls in the evening,” he said.
“This is ironical. What is the need of such a control room which cannot work at 7 in the evening,” he asked.
