Geelani denounces US decision, calls for protests today

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Thursday denounced American plan to declare Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and called for valley wide protests against the decision.
While terming it biased and prejudicial policy against muslim countries, Geelani in a statement stressed Muslim world to show unity and take practical steps against the sinister designs and conspiracies hatched by USA.
Meanwhile, the spokesman said that an extra ordinary meeting of executive council of Hurriyat Conference and Syed Ali Geelani in chair, was held at Hyderpora , in which all the constituent party leaders participated and deliberated upon prevailing situations, geopolitical changes, conspiracies hatched against Muslim Ummah and recent developments related with ongoing movement of Kashmir and the future strategy.
“During the meeting it was declared we won’t succumb to any pressure and extend full support to Geelani besides hailing the stand and stance adopted by Hurriyat chairman, “statement said.
“it was also resolved in the meeting that Hurriyat Conference believe in peaceful resolution of all issues through meaningful dialogue, however arrogance of Indian administration has turned whole state into a graveyard,” it added.
The organisation reiterated that negotiations under the shadow of gun are unacceptable and reviewed the concept of future strategy, work plans and reinforcement for the movement, statement said.
The constituent members also equated Kashmir and Palestine issue as serious issues for Muslim world and appealed muslim world for taking measures for their resolutions, statement said.
The statement said that meeting decided to support protest rally to be organised by joint resistance leadership from Lal Chowk towards UN observers’ office at Srinagar where a memorandum will be handed over to UN representative besides organising seminar on Saturday at its party headquarters.
The participants also took strong note of harassment of its constituent member Davinder Singh and his family by Bajrang Dal and VHP goons and warned the government to face consequences if anything untoward happens to them.
