SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday expressed surprise over Javaid Ahmad Mir’s quitting the conglomerate, saying Mir neither informed the forum nor the chairman about his decision or the reasons behind it.
A spokesperson of the amalgam in a statement said Javaid Mir “straightaway went to media where he ambiguously mentioned about some so-called ideological differences without elaborating what that meant”.
“Mir is free to do as he wills but the manner in which he has done it goes against the basis of organisational ethics and is in bad taste,” the spokesperson said.
Javaid Mir also heads his faction of JKLF and was part of Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz.
