SRTC employees ask Govt to take Delhi land in lieu of Tis Hazari property

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation employees on Tuesday staged demonstration against the government for not taking the possession of land which was given to SRTC against vacating Tis Hazari land in Delhi.
Protesters said that recently Hon’ble High Court has passed an order where in JKSRTC has been directed to vacate the property of Tis Hazari Delhi within three months and hand it over to Delhi Government for developing court complex. The Delhi Government was also directed by court to provide alternate land to SRTC but state government is not taking up the case with Delhi government, protestors said.
The protesters said that the JKSRTC is not providing only the Delhi bus service but also became a facility center for people of JK State.
The operation of JKSRTC from Delhi office is benefiting the Students, Tourists, patients who visit Delhi and cannot afford air travel, they said.
The protestors appealed the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter and take up the issue with Delhi Government.
