Militants lobbed grenade at my Hajin house, claims Kuka Parray’s son

Hajin: Suspected militants allegedly attacked the residence of a Congressman here in Northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

Imtiyaz Yousuf Parray, son of government backed slain civil-militia commander, Mohammad Yousuf Parray alias Kuka Parray, claimed that a grenade was hurled inside the compound of his house at Hajin area of the district, however, no one was hurt.

“I was not present in the house but the grenade was hurled at around 2 am,” Parray told the Kashmir Reader Sunday morning.

Parray, his family and his brother, Khursheed, live at their ancestral place in the town.

“The grenade exploded inside the compound with a big bang. However, no damage or injuries were caused by the explosion,” Parray said.

The security guards of Khursheed Ahmad Parray “immediately opened fire in air but the militants had fled the spot”.

Imtiyaz said, “I was in Srinagar but all my family members are safe.”

Local police officials denied to comment on this issue.
