Dir agri stresses improvement in work culture; warns of strict action against erring employees

SRINAGAR: In order to ensure punctuality of employees and improvement in work culture Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Ajaz Andrabi on Tuesday conducted a surprise visit to sub-ordinate offices of the directorate and checked the attendance of various offices, an official handout read.
According to the handout, the offices which the director visited include: Deputy Director (M&E), Joint Director Inputs, Potato Development Officer, Director Rakhs & Farms, I T Section, Accounts Section, Project Coordinator Mushrooms, Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Mushroom Specialist Srinagar, Assistant Entomologist Srinagar & Divisional Seed Certification Officer.
During his visit, 30 employees were found absent from their legitimate duties. The director ordered an , on the spot administrative action against the absentees as per J&K Civil Services Rules, the handout read.
The officers/officials who were not found present in their offices and had left the station without seeking proper permission and making entry in the movement register, were directed to explain their position through their respective controlling officers within three days, failing which warranted action under rules would be initiated against them, the handout further read.
Taking strict notice of the absenteeism, Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi has directed all the concerned officers/officials to “strictly adhere to the office timings, so that people do not face hardships”. He stressed on “improvement in work culture” and warned of “strict action against erring employees” in future, it added.
