Srinagar: 20 year old footballer turned Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militant Majid Khan of Anantnag has laid down his arms and surrendered before forces in south Kashmir, sources said.
They added that Majid surrendered at a forces camp located in south Kashmir late last night.
Majid’s surrender came after repeated pleas from his family members through social media.
“Majid has reportedly contacted his family and whenever he visits them we will let you know,” SSP Anantnag Altaf Khan told Kashmir Reader.
Nicknamed as Pollock for his resemblance with the famous South African cricketer, the Anantnag youth had quietly left home last week in to join the militant ranks. Within hours, his picture with an assault rifle was shared by hundreds.
