SRINAGAR: Aircel has completed 12 years of its operations in J&K and enjoys a good share of revenue and subscribers. After the ‘aggressive’ marketing of the Reliance Jio, mobile network operators have been facing slump in their revenues as the mobile subscribers started using the Jio’s cheaper plans and also its 4G services.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Aircel has termed the rumors that Aircel may wind up its operations in J&K completely baseless and false.
Aircel’s Circle Business Head J&K Deepinder Tiwana said Aircel was not only here to stay but was expanding. Aircel has come up with robust competitive tariffs to benefit the customers, the statement read.
Aircel has crossed 30 lakh subscribers in its 12 years of operation in J&K. Aircel is very much in the market and has a good share of subscribers. Its customers are very satisfied with its services and it intends to serve them even better, the statement added.
Aircel has come up with innovative tariff plans since its inception in J&K and according to the statement believes in reshuffling its prices and plans according to the needs of its customers. This has helped Aircel gain 25% market share in J&K.
Given its ‘robust’ tariff plans which Aircel rolled out recently, some elements as per the statement “have been creating malicious propaganda against us”. “We are not winding up in Jammu & Kashmir; we are staying here and in fact making our footing more strong with our subscriber friendly plans, it added.
Aircel has covered almost all the areas in J&K which comes upto around 90 percent population. There are some inaccessible pockets in the state which are yet to be covered.
In remote areas like Leh, its services are very good and have very good feedback from its customers.
Beginning with just 100 sites in J&K, Aircel currently has 2400 sites operating in the state providing seamless network to its subscribers. Its presence is also equally divided in Jammu region and Kashmir region.
Aircel claims to have the best in the industry’ tariff plans at present. “We want to give huge value to our customers’ money. We offer unlimited calling at just Rs 178 with 2GB data and 100 SMS/day that comes with 28 days validity. After 28 days, the subscribers by default avail rate cutters and enjoy the calling benefit of Rs 0.30p per minute for another two months,” the statement read.
Similarly, Rs 449 plans come up with 84 days of validity and the customers can enjoy unlimited calling, 2GB data a day, 100 SMSs a day.
Aircel has a number of people directly or indirectly employed or associated with it in Jammu and Kashmir. These constitute around 250 distributors, over 28000 retailers besides our employees, it added.
